Disabling the Solaris Registration

Once you register your system, the registration wizard does not appear. If you choose to disable the Solaris Registration Wizard by selecting never register, the registration wizard will not appear. You can still register your software with the Sun Update Manager application. For more information, see the Sun Update Connection documentation on docs.sun.com..

How to Disable Solaris Registration From the GUI

  1. Become superuser or assume an equivalent role.

    Roles contain authorizations and privileged commands. For more information about roles, see Configuring RBAC (Task Map) in System Administration Guide: Security Services .

  2. Reboot your system to launch the registration wizard.

    The Solaris Registration Wizard appears.

  3. Select the Never Register option.

  4. Click Submit.

    The Solaris Registration Wizard closes.

How to Disable Solaris Registration From the CLI

  1. Launch a terminal window.

  2. Become superuser or assume an equivalent role.

    Roles contain authorizations and privileged commands. For more information about roles, see Configuring RBAC (Task Map) in System Administration Guide: Security Services .

  3. Type the following command:

    # /usr/sbin/sconadm register -N
