My name is Stefan G. Weichinger <[email protected]> , I am member of the core developer team of AMANDA and have started to re-organize and trim the existing docs.
The main thing I have done so far is that I converted the AMANDA-docs from plain ASCII to Docbook/XML. By using and adapting the build-tree that is used in the docs-tree of Samba this enables me to generate various output-formats, like txt, ps, pdf and html.
Jelmer R. Vernooij, member of the Samba Team, has granted me the right to use and modify his work for this, thanks a lot!
Apart from changing the format there is much more work to be done here. The AMANDA-docs need a big update and I am willing to do that. Please feel free to browse this version of the docs. I will update these sites from time to time, whenever significant work has happened. Contact me with suggestions, corrections and additions, let's work together to give AMANDA the docs "she" deserves.
Please note that there is still some formatting work left to be done.

The docbook-based docs aren't maintained currently as the active developers have decided to use a Wiki instead.
The ongoing AMANDA-related documentation is located at Zmanda.
A pdf-version of the docbook-based documentation can still be found on oops!.
