Arguments: window &optional scratch-character-format
The function returns a character-format
instance
representing the character format of the selected text, if any, and
otherwise of the character just before the current text cursor
position in window. If scratch-character-format
is supplied, it should be a character-format
instance which is
then filled in and returned. Note that using
scratch-character-format avoids consing a new
character-format instance.
The setf function sets the character formatting of the currently
selected text of window to reflect character-format, which should be a
character-format
instance.
