You can create a database instance on a local or remote computer using the Database Manager GUI.

Database instance on a local computer
As an operating system user, you have administrator rights for the
computer.

Database instance on a remote computer
Microsoft Windows: You need an operating system user for the remote computer
that has administrator rights and the right log on as batch job or a
comparable right
UNIX: You need an operating system user for the remote computer that is a
member of the sdba group (see <sdba_group>
(special operating system group)).

Choose Next to start each of the required steps. Choose one of the following options:
