Use

You start the automatic recovery of the database instance.

The system uses the backup history to determine which backups to use for the recovery. If the backups are files or were created with third-party backup tools, the system also checks whether the corresponding backups can be accessed.

Prerequisites

     You have the server authorization Recovery.

     You have opened a database session (see: db_connect).

Syntax

autorecover [LOG] [UNTIL <date> <time>] [<backup_spec>]

<backup_spec> :: = <key_label_spec> | IBID <backup_ID>

<key_label_spec> :: = KEY <key> LABEL <label>

LOG

Only log backups are used to recover the database instance.

The Database Manager default value uses data and log backups.

UNTIL <date> <time>

<date> ::= <yyyymmdd>

<time> ::= <hhmmss>

All database system content up to this point in time will be recovered.

<date>: year, month, day

<time>: hours, minutes, seconds

If you do not specify this option, the Database Manager uses all available data and log backups and the content of the log volume to restore the most recent possible state.

KEY <key>

Key of the first backup to be read

You can find this value in the backup history

LABEL <label>

Backup ID of the first backup to be read

You can find this value in the backup history

IBID <backup_ID>

Backup ID consisting of a <key> and a <label>, separated by a vertical slash (|)

This notation refers to the output in the backup history and makes it possible to simply copy this specification from the backup history to the DBM command.
