Here you can control the communication with the instant-messaging server. :
You check username and password for openfire.
You can check version of IM server plugin.
You can do a connection reset. Only necessary if autoConnect fails. Check IM server web interface for reconnected session of "admin" user.
You can start synchronization of study or project groups as Buddy Roster groups on the Instant Messaging server. This can be useful if the Instant Messaging server has been temporarily unavailable.
You can set 'idle poll time' and 'chat poll time' used in HTML chat.
