Qt Extended provides versatile functionality for telephony services, ranging from traditional GSM telephony to Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems. Several telephony services can be active at one time, with the user interface automatically adapting to the available services.
Each telephony service consists of a list of interfaces for functionality areas such as network registration, phone calls, SMS, presence, SIM Application Toolkit, etc. More information can be found in the documentation for the Qt Extended Phone Library.
The standard reference version of Qt Extended comes with three telephony services, which implement GSM telephony using an AT command based modem, VoIP using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and VoIP using the Asterisk IAX2 protocol.
