The performance of data imports in Red Hat CMS is constrained by the database, which must perform intensive disk I/O operations. Properly configuring the database is important in achieving maximum performance. The following is a checklist of items that should be performed prior to initiating and during a major data import process.
Periodically analyze your tables throughout the import process.
Make sure a large rollback segment and temporary tablespace are configured.
Disable the permissions denormalization triggers, and rebuild the permissions denormalization after the data has been imported.
Disable database constraints during the import, and re-enable them after the import has been completed.

Disabling constraints can cause data integrity issues and is not recommended unless you have complete confidence in your data. |
Disable the Lifecycle initializer during import, and run it after the import is completed.
