Deploying Applications to Mobile Devices

Once you have a signed installation file (.sisx) for your application, the easiest way of deploying it to a mobile device is with Nokia PC Suite. If Nokia PC Suite is installed on your PC, you can connect your device to your PC (for example, with a USB cable or by Bluetooth) and then double-click on the installation file. PC Suite transfers the file to the device and initiates the installation process. You must accept the install options that are shown on the device.

If you do not have PC Suite installed you can transfer the installation file to the device by using a Bluetooth connection or a USB cable.

  • If you send the installation file to the device over a Bluetooth connection, it is shown as an incoming message in the Inbox. Open the message to start installation.

  • If you transfer the installation file to the device with a USB cable, you must place the file in the device's file system. The built-in file manager on devices based on the Symbian platform limits which directories you can see in the mobile device memory, so it is best to place the installation file in the root directory of the memory card. Open the file from the device file manager to start the installation.

Note:
