Symbian OS v6.1 |
|
Question: I find the .pkg file syntax complicated to use and error-prone. Is there an easier way to create .sis files?
Answer: From Symbian OS v6.1, all SDKs ship with a GUI-based .sis file builder tool called Sisar. Just type "sisar" at a command prompt
to start it up. The tool is basically self-explanatory but has its own internal help mechanism and is separately documented
in the associated Symbian Developer Library. It can equally well be used to build .sis files for applications built with the
Nokia 9200 communicator series SDK based on Symbian OS v6.0 Note that like the other GUI-based tools on SDKs for Symbian OS it depends on a Java 2 Runtime, which can be installed from
the same SDK installation package or CD.
