Question:
I'm developing some technology from which I wish to target multiple Symbian OS handsets. The first step to this is making my technology work on the "reference hardware" on which Symbian OS was developed and tested before being customised by handset manufacturers. What reference hardware does Symbian OS 7.x support?

Answer:
Symbian OS 7.0 reference hardware:
      1. Intel Assabet (SA-1110)
      2. ARM Integrator SPP2 (ARM920T)
        See http://www.symbian.com/technology/symbos-v7x-det.html

        Symbian OS 7.0s reference hardware:
          1. Intel "Lubbock" DBPXA255See http://www.symbian.com/technology/symbos-v7s-det.html

Note that original document incorrectly refers to DBPXA250

          Symbian OS 8.0 reference hardware:
            1. Intel "Lubbock" DBPXA255
These are not the only platforms on which Symbian OS runs - a number of semi-conductor and handset manufacturers have ported Symbian OS to other hardware.
