Question:
A set of changes were made to some java.IO.* classes in JDK 1.1.6 to make Java Remote Method Invocation work over Internet Inter-ORB Protocol. Does ER5 Java incorporate these changes?

Answer:
No, these changes were not incorporated into the ER5 Runtime for Java . Further, the classes involved are preloaded, so the fix cannot be delivered as a jar file patch for end users either.
These changes have however been incorporated into the next (pJava) release of the EPOC Runtime for Java. Note that, unlike under standard Java, RMI is strictly an optional API under pJava.
