Question:
Does J2ME MIDP on the Nokia Series 60 support the creation of a client Socket connection such as

StreamConnection c = (StreamConnection) Connector.open("socket://www.symbian.com:80");

Answer:
Socket support within the GCF is not required by the MIDP 1.0 specification. Nokia states that Sockets are not supported by the MIDP 1.0 implementation running on the Series 60 Nokia 7650 or 3650 phones.
