Question:
I need to debug my Java application running on the Sony Ericsson P800. How do I receive output from Java's System.out stream?

Answer:

There is a useful utility called Redirect that is available from the Ericsson Mobility World website. Go to
      http://www.ericsson.com/mobilityworld/
      and follow the links below

Developer Zone -> Symbian OS -> Tools and enablers .

Download the Redirect application for the P800. Install the Redirect.sis file on the P800 and launch the Redirect application prior to running your Java application. Redirect will capture the System.out output. Note the Redirect application works for both PersonalJava and J2ME MIDP applications.

There is also a version of Redirect available for the UIQ emulator. This version of Redirect.sis is located on your UIQ SDK installation at

      \epoc32\winscw\c

Launch the UIQ emulator and install the application from the application Launcher menu.
