Plugin Description

The BXML Editor is designed to help you develop Backbase powered web applications using the Eclipse 3.0+ IDE.

Code Assistance

For code completion, B red letter image for b: prefixed tags

By default, the color of b: prefixed tags is blue

For code completion, S red letter image for s: prefixed tags

By default, the color of s: prefixed tags is red

All required attributes are marked with *

When available, description for all tags, attributes and values

BXML related descriptions for some HTML tags

For example: the <form> tag.

Specific Backbase Files

Create new BXML startup files:

In the File menu, select New > BXML startup page

Alternatively, select File > New > Other, choose BXML Wizard, and select BXML startup page.

Create new BXML include files:

In the File menu, select New > BXML include file, or.

Alternatively, select File > New > Other, choose BXML Wizard, and select BXML include file.

BXML Preferences

In the Window menu, select Preferences:

In Preferences, expand Workbench > Editors:

Select BXML Preferences, where you can change the BXML settings.

The updated BXML Preferences are available when you (re)start Eclipse.

Installation

Unzip eclipse_plugin.zip into the following Eclipse directory: \Program Files\Eclipse\.
Start, or restart, the workbench.

Run BXML Editor

In the Window menu, select Open Perspective > Other.
In the Select Perspective window, choose BXML.

Known Issues

Using the XMLBuddy Plugin interferes with BXML Editor functionality.

To resolve this, right-click the file you want to view/edit and select Open With > BXML Editor.
XMLBuddy errors when including the HTML Doctype: it tries to check validation of the file as HTML.
Outline window is not functional.
