Perform a backup of your Zenoss data before removing a ZenPack. See Section "Backup and Restore" in the Zenoss Administrator's Guide for information on how to backup your Zenoss data.
As a ZenPack that installed a Device Class will remove both the Device Class and all Devices within that class, see if the ZenPack creates a Device Class.
From the navigation bar, click on the Settings item.
Click on the ZenPacks tab.
Click on the ZenPack that you are about to remove.
In the ZenPack Provides table, look for entries that start with /Devices/
. If /Devices/
are listed, then it will be necessary to go to that device class and ensure that any devices in that Device Class are okay to delete. If a device cannot be moved or deleted, then the ZenPack should not be removed.
Delete any Data Source provided by the ZenPack. In the ZenPack Provides table, look for entries that contain the word datasources
. There is currently no report which lists out the datasources used by each performance template, so this will need to be done manually.
From the ZenPacks tab under Settings, click on the checkbox that you wish to remove.
Click on the
menu item from the table menu.Click on the
button to delete the ZenPack.Restart Zenoss
Removing a ZenPack can have unexpected consequences. For example, removing a ZenPack that installed a Device Class will remove both the Device Class and all Devices within that class.
