3. Enable Monitoring

  1. Navigate to the device in the Zenoss interface.

  2. From the page menu, select MoreTemplates.

  3. From the table menu, select Bind Templates.

    The Bind Performance Templates dialog appears.

  4. To add the FTPMonitor template and retain other performance templates, hold down the control key while clicking on the FTPMonitor entry.

  5. Click OK.

    The FTPMonitor template should now be displayed under the Performance Templates for Device.

  6. Click the FTPMonitor template and change options as needed. Click Save to save your changes.

    The port to connect to FTP server (default 21)

    Send String

    Command string to send to the server

    Expect String

    A string to expect in server response

    Mismatch

    If the expected string does not match the string returned from the remote server, create an event with one of these states: ok, warn, crit (default: warn)

    Quit String

    Command to send to the remote server to end the session


  7. Navigate to the Perf tab and you should see some placeholders for graphs. After approximately fifteen minutes you should see the graphs start to become populated with information.
