Q.

How do I go back and change things configured during the install process?

A.

Login as the 'root' user, and type setup on the command line.

Q.

I have forgotten my root password. How do I reset it?

A.

First make sure you have a keyboard and monitor attached to your IPCop machine.

Reboot (you can do this from the web interface).

When the GRUB screen appears, press the "a" key. A command string will appear with the cursor at the far right. Append the option " single" to the end of the line (not in quotes and don't forget the space before it). Press Enter and IPCop should start up in single user mode.

After startup completes you will be left at the root command prompt. You can then change the root password with the command "passwd" and restart IPCop normally.

Q.

Will my SpeedTouch 330 USB ADSL modem work with IPCop?

A.

Yes. Many ISPs, including Freeserve in the UK, provide it for their Broadband service. Upload the mgmt.o file to IPCop, and on the PPP Setup page set the VPI Number to 0, and the VCI Number to 38 if you are in the UK.
