Database Analyzer 
Purpose
The Database Analyzer database tool is used to analyze the performance of database instances. You can use Database Analyzer to identify problems in the following areas:
- Database configuration (caches, parameters)
- Synchronization (locks, critical sections, heap)
- Processing of SQL statements (for example, search strategies, indexes, optimization statistics)
- Hardware configuration
You can use
Database Analyzer on all 
operating systems
supported by the database system. You can use the Database Analyzer to
analyze all database instance types and versions of the database software and
also access database instances on a remote computer.

The Database
Analyzer is a component of the MaxDB software. For information on where to

Integration
Database Analyzer is integrated in the Database Manager GUI and the Lifecycle Management (CCMS) SAP solution. However you can also call Database Analyzer directly from the command line or from Database Manager CLI: Calling the Database Analyzer.
In Microsoft Windows, Database Analyzer uses MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components). You will need MDAC Version 2.7 or higher.
Features
Database Analyzer analyzes the performance of a database instance in regular intervals. The rules and commands for how the Database Analyzer determines performance-relevant data are defined in the configuration file
The results of the analysis are noted in the Database Analyzer in log files.
It uses a range of pre-defined messages.
Constraints
From version 7.5, the DBM commands for accessing the Database Analyzer are available for use without restriction; see Database Manager CLI, Commands for Using the Database Analyzer. To use the Database Analyzer for database instances from previous versions, call the Database Analyzer directly; see Calling the Database Analyzer.
