Enablers: SDK: Virtual Frame Buffer
Functional Description
The Virtual Framebuffer (QVFb) is a development tool to develop Qt Extended Core programs on a desktop machine, without switching between consoles and X11. It emulates a framebuffer using a shared memory region and uses the QVFb utility to display the framebuffer in a window. The regions of the display that have changed are updated periodically, so discrete snapshots of the framebuffer are seen, rather than each individual drawing operation. For this reason drawing problems such as flickering may not be apparent until the program is run using a real framebuffer.

Features
The QVFb simulator supports brightness levels, so it shows dimmed and blanked displays the same as a real device.
