This section introduces the development environment and tools used in developing mobile applications for the Symbian platform. The prerequisites for developing Symbian C++ applications for the Symbian platform are listed in the Before You Start section.

  An Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a software application that is meant to make software development easier for developers.
