FAQ-0209 Why are Symbian OS files 1 hour out under Explorer?

Question:
The time of saved files is 1 hour in the future as shown by Windows Explorer. The NT system clock is correct and the EPOC32 clock in WINS is also correct. Why the discrepancy?

Answer:
Windows NT stores file times in GMT wheras Symbian OS stores them using local time, so when the NT User interface does the conversion to local, the Symbian OS file times appear incorrectly (unless local time=GMT).
