Question:
I want to put my application SIS file onto a http server so that it can be downloaded and installed onto a Symbian OS device over WAP. Will this work?

Answer:
Yes.

SIS files are associated with the following MIME type

application/vnd.symbian.install

Add this to the list of MIME types supported by the http server upon which the SIS file will reside. The client browser should then recognize the downloaded file as a SIS file and automatically start the installation process.
