Answer:
How do I switch between running tasks on Symbian's Techview UI?
Press "System" in the top right hand corner of the screen to bring up the task dialog. This can then be used to switch between tasks.

On debug versions of Symbian OS (e.g. the emulator or debug ROMs) you can use the Emulator hotkeys Ctrl+Shift+Alt+T to bring up the task dialog.

How do I switch between running tasks on phone manufacturer UIs?
Different UIs have different methods - consult the UI documentation for the specific vendor.

Note that you can use the emulator hotkeys Ctrl+Shift+Alt+T on currently released manufacturer SDK Emulators; these hotkeys may be disabled by SDK provider.

How do I switch between running tasks on TextShell console?
The textshell minimal console that is provided in the DevKit uses a different version of the window server to the commercial UIs; it does not respond to the standard hotkeys.

You can use:
The hotkey Ctrl-Alt-5 to switch between tasks. Alternatively, on a reference board with a touch screen, you can drag one window to one side and tap on an underlying window.
