ZenCommand Data Sources can be tested using the zentestcommand shell script. From the command line, simply run:

zentestcommand –d devicename --datasource=datasourcename

Where devicename is the device you wish to run the command on and datasourcename is the name of a data source on a template associated wih the device. zentestcommand will print the results of the command to stdout.
