I'm pleased to announce OpenDarwin 6.6.1, available immediately for both ppc and x86 architectures. OpenDarwin 6.6.1 is based on the Darwin 6.6 (which corresponds to Mac OS X 10.2.6) source release and licensed under the APSL. It includes additions and modifications from the OpenDarwin CVS Repository.

Notable changes from the OpenDarwin 20030212 release:

• Source updated to Mac OS X 10.2.6 from Apple
• this release is the first to be built completely from the OpenDarwin CVS repository. It can rebuilt locally, except for the binary drivers supplied by Apple for the ppc-architecture released under the Apple Driver License
• XFree86 has been updated to a post-4.3.0 version with performance improvements and >8bit color on x86
• systrace has been integrated and is known to work on the ppc-architecture.
• many shell utilities have been synchronized with their FreeBSD equivalents
• perl and python are present
• gdb is present
