Binary Packages for OpenDarwin

The support infrastructure for these packages was integrated into OpenDarwin before the 6.6.2 release, any newer release should thus be equipped with yum, a tool to fetch RPMS and resolve dependencies. Yum is the preferred method of accessing and installing the here mentioned packages. Of course, since the packages are regular RPMS, they can also be manually installed.
A pre-configured yum.conf is shipped with OpenDarwin. To access the experimental packages mentioned below, please de-comment the sections referring to them.
If you have questions regarding these packages, please direct your questions to: hackers at opendarwin.org.
There are two different types of packages provided for OpenDarwin:

OpenDarwin packages

base packages
These packages reflect the base system that OpenDarwin ships with. For every release there will be a set of RPMS that can be used to remove/install parts of the base system. For the current release these can be found at: http://www.opendarwin.org/downloads/yum/opendarwin/.
Only security updates are added to these.

experimental packages
The experimental packages are grouped into the same packages as the base packages and contain either newer versions or bugfixes. These packages can be used to replace (and thus update) base packages. They can manually be downloaded from: http://www.opendarwin.org/downloads/yum/opendarwin-exp/.

DarwinPorts packages

tested packages
The stable DarwinPorts packages are built prior to a new release of OpenDarwin and accompany the release as a way of adding software once the base system is installed. The DarwinPorts packages can be manually downloaded from: http://www.opendarwin.org/downloads/yum/darwinports/.

experimental packages
DarwinPorts Experimental packages, these are packages built from DarwinPorts to be tested by the community. These RPMS can also be manually downloaded from: http://www.opendarwin.org/downloads/yum/darwinports-exp/
