NetKernel includes a large set of developer tools.

The latest addition in NetKernel 3.3 is the Request Visualizer Tool. This tool was developed for the up-coming NetKernel 4.0 product and was ported to NetKernel 3.3 because it was found to be so valuable. The Debugger and the XUnit Testing Framework remain powerful tools for understanding how NetKernel operates and for building validation testing frameworks for you applications.

Other tools are available in the Developer Tools page in the backend fulcrum and provide documentation within the tools. These include:

  • New Module Wizard - Create a new module skeleton
  • Workbench - A module that enables experimentation with scripts and services
  • Request Trace - Issue a resource request into a module and observe the resolution process
  • Class Trace - Trace how a Java class is resolved within the context of a module
  • DPML Playpen - This tool allows you to input, validate and execute fragments of DPML
  • Scripting Playpen - This tool allows you to input, validate and execute scripts written in Ruby, Beanshell, Javascript, Python and Groovy
  • Regex Cookbook - Experiment with regular expressions and rewrite rules
  • Resource Browser - List all resources within a module
