First and foremost, The K Menu allows you to browse and start applications. Clicking on The K Menu will present you with a list of application categories under the “All Applications” heading. Browse the application categories and click on a highlighted application to start it.

You will notice various icons on the Toolbar that represent the applications they will start if you click them. If you hover your mouse pointer over a Toolbar icon a description of the application it launches will be displayed. You may add your own links to applications that you use often to the Toolbar by right-clicking on The K Menu icon and highlighting Panel Menu->Add to Panel->Application and clicking on the application you want to add.

If you know the exact name of the application you'd like to run, you may right-click on your desktop and select the Run Command menu item. From here you may manually enter your desired command and further customize the execution of said program by using the Options button. The Run Command window is also available through the K Menu.
