The following information reflects what is new in the edX Platform during the week of 17 August 2015.

Open edX

For sites that are running an Open edX instance, Cypress is now available. Cypress, the third release of the Open edX platform, contains new features for learners, course teams, and developers. For more information, see the Open edX Cypress Release.

Website

Learners who pursue verified certificates can now use either their credit cards or their PayPal accounts to pay for course fees. This new feature on the edx.org website enables more learners to work toward verified certificates.

Studio

In courses that include content experiments, course team members can no longer delete a group that is in use by a unit. This problem, which only affected course team members who use Internet Explorer 10, is now resolved. (TNL-2882)

LMS

  • In HTML and problem components that include an HTML span tag, the specified font formatting now appears correctly in both Studio and the LMS. Previously, the selected fonts appeared correctly in Studio but not in the LMS. (TNL-298, TNL-2668, TNL-2583, TNL-2584)
  • Styling changes to the play button in the video player make it easier to identify when this button has focus in the browser. (UX-2233)
