EdX Studio¶

• The peer instruction tool is now available. With this tool, you set up a multiple choice question and provide a sample explanation for why each of the answer choices might be the correct one. Learners then select an answer, provide their own explanation for the answer they selected, and then view the answers and explanations that other learners have provided before selecting a final answer.

• A problem that occurred when the course image URL was removed from the Schedule and Details page has been fixed. (ECOM-3384)

EdX LMS¶

• The peer instruction tool is now available. With this tool, learners select an answer for a multiple-choice question and provide an explanation for the answer that they select. Learners can then review the answers and explanations that other learners have provided for the same question, and can change their answers before they submit a final response. Histograms provide information about the answers that learners select.

• When a learner used the edX platform in a right-to-left language, such as Arabic, the draggable options in drag and drop problems were not visible. This problem has been fixed.

Analytics¶

• A problem caused broswers to emit many play_video events when a video was buffering. This problem has been fixed. (TNL-2178)
• Events that identify when a peer instruction component is accessed, and when an initial answer or a final answer is submitted, have been added to course data packages. For more information, see Peer Instruction Events.
• The audit_notpassing and audit_passing statuses have been added to the certificates_generatedcertificate table. For more information, see Columns in the certificates_generatedcertificate Table.

Documentation¶

As of 1 January 2016, the edX documentation team no longer maintains an individual change log for each guide. These release notes provide a weekly summary of platform changes, and include links to more complete documentation when it is available.
