The following information summarizes what is new in the edX platform this week.
The edX engineering wiki Release Pages provide detailed information about every change made to the edx-platform GitHub repository. If you are interested in additional information about every change in a release, create a user account for the wiki and review the dated release pages.
The edX video player now renders all transcript files as plain text. HTML
markup, including character entities such as and styling such as
bold (strong) or italic (emphasis), is now removed from each transcript .srt
file before the transcript plays for a video component.
In addition, the indication for the selected speed and transcript language is now clearer when a user’s operating system is in high contrast mode. (AC-454)
In course discussions, large images could sometimes exceed the width of the discussion area, so that only part of the image was visible. This problem has been resolved. (TNL-4778)
In course discussions, learners can no longer vote for or report their own posts. (TNL-4703)
