The following information summarizes what is new in the edX platform this week.
The edX engineering wiki Release Pages provide detailed information about every change made to the edx-platform GitHub repository. If you are interested in additional information about every change in a release, create a user account for the wiki and review the dated release pages.
Learners can now sign into the LMS using their Microsoft® online accounts. The Microsoft sign in button is available along with buttons for signing in with Facebook® and Google® online accounts.
Randomized problems that are sent to an external grader now include the random seed value that was used to initialize the randomization. For more information, see External Grader for edx.org course teams and External Grader for Open edX course teams. (OSPR-1202)
In addition to offering badges for course completion, Open edX instances can now award badges to learners for customized course events. Examples of course events are: enrolling in a certain number of courses, completing a certain number of courses, or completing a specific list of courses. The mobile, course structure, and profile images REST web services are deprecated.
